I haven’t started loosing my hair yet but i want to attempt to prolong the time before it occurs. i know a majority of it is left to genetics but, do behavior, and living habits contribute anything at all (eg getting average of 4 hours of sleep a night for many years instead of 7)

I’m sure living habits do affect it somehow, but I’m not sure about saying anything other than don’t pluck out every hair in your head…

It is 95% genetics- but yes- certian living habits may contribute to early hair loss- such as stress, poor diet, illnesses. Lack of sleep- not directly but if because you don’t get enough sleep you are also stressed then it may cause early balding. Check your father and grandfathers hair- if they went bald or are balding chances of you balding are good and there’s no way to stop nature. If they both have a good head of hair don’t worry. Everyone’s hair changes as we age reguardless of genetics and a bit of thinning is a given. Hope this helps. And get some sleep.
