Vitamins For Hair Loss

June 22nd, 2009
Penny Harrison asked:

Hair loss, also known as baldness refers to the act of shedding hair as a result of genes, bad nutrition, medications, or disease. Losing hair can occur in women and men.

It is very important for us to look good, and a good lock of hair is what completes our appearance. When a person walks into a party or a wedding, they are immediately praised or commented upon based on their hair style. And this rule applies to both men and women.

If the person is said to be suffering from hair loss, they might be driven to using a wig or giving the occasion a miss for fear of being ridiculed by their friends or family members. For years now, we have been normally associating hair loss and baldness with older people, but today we note there are many below the age of 30 who are facing this issue.

For this category of people, they are probably not getting enough vitamins and nutrients; unhealthy eating habits and overall health issues.

When a person does not take adequate amounts of Vitamin B, especially vitamins like B6 and B5, they will face sever hair fall that leads to hair loss. Another Vitamin that we need is Vitamin A, as it helps those suffering from hair loss. They must increase intake of Vitamin A rich foods, as it would lead to stimulation of hair growth.

Men face baldness right from the age of 35 and above, in most cases it is hereditary and in others it could be connected with some other ailment. A person who sees signs of balding on their crown is likely to panic and start worrying, to a point where they could go into depression. In such cases, a skin doctor or hair expert might prescribe vitamin rich pills called Inositol which must be taken on a daily basis to see visible results. For women, hair loss could be due to onset of menopause or imbalance in hormones, for which they need to take plenty of vitamins, and food rich in calcium and iron. Biotin that produces keratin is known to prevent hair loss and promote growth, it is found in wheat grains, milk and rice. Also consumption of Vegetable oils which is filled with Vitamin E is an alternative for those suffering from hairloss. Some of the other food items that contain this vitamin are nuts, soya beans, and green leafy vegetables.

If an individual were to maintain good health; physically active and get enough sleep, they will find there is no hair loss. Losing upto 100 strands per day is said to be normal, but if it goes beyond this limit, it could be an onset of balding. Proper nutrition combined with a healthy lifestyle will give our body the required amount of nutrients and minerals keeping our system working like clock work. Also when a person is working under severe pressure, the stress will be visible through their hair’s condition. The same applies when a person is taking strong doses of medication or is ailing from cancer or other terminal diseases. For others, hair loss is just a hair rising issue they need to sort out.

Do everyone a favor an educate yourself!
Diseases are part of nature/genes too, but does that mean drugs that treat the disease are a scam? NO!
Treatments/drugs are designed to overcome flaws in “nature”!

How does low testosterone affect female hairloss?

June 2nd, 2009
thisismakingmecrazy asked:

i’m in my mid 20’s and saw a dermatologist for hairloss/thinning. After getting blood work done, my testosterone is low & I have to see an endocrinologyst. I have to wait weeks till that appointment, does anyone know what this could mean? I’ve also been on the pill for years, my obgyn switched me to to yasmine from triphasil b/c yasmine is non-androgen. I never really had issues from the pill and hairloss was pretty sudden. I doubt it’s TE b/c I can’t think of any high-stress or injury etc that could have caused it. All I have to go on now is low testosterone. If anyone has any ideas or was in a similar situation please help!! thanks!!
Hi Kinacl, thanks for responding! I understand testosterone is normally associated w/ men and estrogen females however my dr. says we all produce certain levels of each. Apparently mine is low even for a female. He referred me to a hormone specialist to see how/if this could be causing some hairloss i’m seeing. Does that make any sense to you? Thanks! oh and no, i’m not taking any other medince aside from the pill.

Preventing Hairloss Naturally

May 24th, 2009
Vera Sang asked:

Preventing hair loss is or should be a goal of most men. Based on statistics 66% of men will develop male pattern baldness. Most have pretty much accepted this as inevitable and when it actually does shave their heads clean. Many will simply do nothing but hope it does not affect them.

There are hair loss prevention techniques available if you are not now bald completely or have not been affected by male pattern baldness. Important roles, such as diligence and knowledge of correct hair care procedures are vital when it comes to the subject of hair loss prevention and avoiding Alopecia. It is true that we are not in control of all causes of hair loss, however, a large majority of the most popular reasons for such a condition, can be avoided by following the correct regimes when it comes to caring for our scalp. And improve the overall health of your hair.

1 The best method for the prevention of hair loss, is to be as natural as possible. Adding too many chemicals to the hair should be avoided at all times. It is understandable that hairstyling is demanded for special occasions, however, it is much better not to undertake hairstyling or use hair products on a daily basis. Hair will grow healthy quite naturally. If you continue to undergo the basics, your scalp will be much healthier.

2. Ensure that you give your scalp a massage from time to time. While taking a shower is the best way to do this. Massage your scalp whilst shampooing your hair, ensuring that you give the scalp a good kneading and rubbing, in order to stimulate the follicles and promote healthy hair growth.

3. Supplementing your diet with the vitamins and nutrients needed for healthy hair growth is a good hair loss prevention technique. Vitamins such as B6, E, biotin, amino acids and zinc are essential components for the stimulation of the hair follicles. Being able to acquire a daily recommended dosage of these vitamins and nutrients will help you correct any hormonal imbalance that could potentially damage your hair. Aside from this, one of the leading causes of hair loss is heredity, therefore it is essential to balance the hormones, which will in turn ensure that your descendents will not suffer from Alopecia.

It does not make a difference what phase you are in of balding, you should spend some time to consider the various different hair loss prevention techniques. Focusing on preventing hair loss now can lead to more and healthier hair in the years ahead.

Adderall: Has anyone noticed hairloss or itchy skin while on it?

May 18th, 2009
funsunjoy asked:

I don’t know if it’s just my stress level or if it’s a side effect of the Adderall. I notice my scalp sometime has a burning or itchy sensation . Also when I brush my hair or take it out of ponytail, I notice I am losing a lot of hair. Has anyone experienced anything like this or is it me?

Please let me know what your experiences have been. I am scheduled to have a full blood work up to make sure it’s nothing serious.

Thanks.

Esther

The Benefits of Shower Filter That You Should Know

May 12th, 2009
Alvyn Khoo asked:

Using a shower filter is one of the easiest and most effective ways to reduce harmful exposure to chlorine and other chemicals, which was originally use for water treatment purpose by the public water works department. During the "Sediment" process,  some particles will spontaneously settle out from water on standing, while some will not. On the next stage, "Coagulation" or "Flocculation" processes, to cause particles that are slow to settle or are  non-settling to settle out more readily, a soluble chemical or mixture  of chemicals is added to the water. These mixture of chemicals generally contain aluminium sulphate or ferric chloride.

These chemicals react with water and air, as a result, chlorine gas is formed. It is also well known for  bleaching and disinfectant agent.  Chlorine  gas can seriously affect your health. It is corrosive and irritating to the  eyes, skin and respiratory tract. Exposure to low amounts may cause a  sore throat, eye and skin irritation and coughing. Exposure to higher  amounts of the gas can cause narrowing of the bronchi, burning of the  eyes and skin and a blue coloring of the skin. It can also cause a  build up of fluid in the lungs and pain in the chest.

Chlorine was also the first poison gas to be used as a weapon during World War I!

General Health and Sickness

It is so important that showering  in filtered water results in greater respiratory health by reducing the  risk of asthma and bronchitis from chlorine inhalation. Chlorine-free water shower, not only decreases the risks of bladder and breast cancer, it also reduces the chlorine-caused  fatigue,  results in higher energy levels and overall greater  health. Most of you, might have overlooked that by removing chlorine from showering water will result in better air quality throughout the house.

Beauty and Skin Care

Besides removing chlorine from shower is important in the health aspect, it is equally beneficial to anti-aging and skin care. Shower filter take away chlorine, thus removing the drying effects of chlorine, your skin becomes softer, healthier, and younger looking. Those who swim regularly in the pool will definitely understand this better than the ones who don’t. With shower filter, you do not need to spend excessively on skin care product to treat your parched, cracked and dry skin.

Beautiful Hair

Another common chlorine effect is on your hair. Constant exposure to chlorine, not only causing your hair to be dry, but it will weaken and damage the hair,  and soon, hairloss will be the main concern of all. Shower filter remove chlorine, and  the hair is able to preserve its natural moisturizing oils, it becomes  softer and healthier when chlorine is removed from showering water.

I must stress on this again, the benefits of Shower Filter not only improve your health, preserve your beauty and youth (reduces skin aging and hair damage), it also save you lots of money (less visit to hospital and less money spend on health care, hair care and skin care products) on long term basis. So, please hurry up to install one shower filter.
